How to use it

  1. 1Pick what you want: paragraphs, sentences, words, or HTML-wrapped paragraphs (each in a <p> tag).
  2. 2Set the count. Paragraphs and sentences cap at 200; words cap at 5,000.
  3. 3Toggle whether to start with the classic "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet…" opening. Off, and the first sentence is randomized like the rest.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the word bank come from?
The same source the typesetting industry has used since the 1500s — fragments of Cicero's "De finibus bonorum et malorum" (45 BC). Around 180 distinct words rearranged randomly, which is enough to feel non-repetitive across hundreds of paragraphs.
Why use Lorem Ipsum at all?
Because real English distracts the eye. When designers and clients see meaningful text, they read it instead of evaluating the layout. Lorem Ipsum has the visual texture of real prose without any meaning to anchor onto.
Why does it start with "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet"?
That's the conventional opening — recognized at a glance as placeholder. Turn the toggle off if you want a fully randomized first sentence.
What's the difference between the Words and Sentences modes?
Words gives you exactly N space-separated words with no punctuation beyond what's in each word. Sentences gives you N sentences ended with periods, with some commas inserted for rhythm. Use Words for tight UI labels and Sentences for body copy.
Does the HTML mode escape anything?
No escaping is needed — the word bank contains only letters. Each paragraph is wrapped in a <p> tag and separated by a newline, so the output drops straight into a CMS or template.
Is the output sent anywhere?
No. Generation runs in your browser. The tool doesn't need a server because the word bank is built in.
